For the first time probiotics meets green tea in an advanced weight loss system.

All natural GreenTea TX100 is a delicious tasting, 7 calorie, convenient and easy to use sachet

The health and weight loss benefits associated with the regular consumption of green tea are well-documented and now Body Science would like to introduce you to the latest in product development - our new GreenTea TX100.

Not only does this natural formulation contain antioxidants daily, but it is also the first green tea formulation to incorporate probiotics, the powerful microorganisms that help to keep the digestive tract healthy.

There is a strong relationship between our gut health and the absorption of essential nutrients from the food we eat on a daily basis. A daily serve of Body Science Green Tea TX100 contains more than 6 billion good bacteria courtesy of the probiotics Lactobacillus plantarum. Lactobacillus is widely used to maintain healthy digestive function (1, 2) and support immunity (2).

Green tea is a widely consumed form of tea from China. The Chinese have been drinking green tea for centuries. It is one of the most popular liquid and herbal products regularly consumed by people worldwide.

The green tea plant is Camelia sinesis, which is a natural source of polyphenols. Polyphenols possess outstanding anti-oxidant properties, helping to protect cells against free radial mediated damage (3).  Greentea TX100 boasts a high antioxidant content, which comes not only from green tea, but from added Vitamin C and also Lactobacillus.

The link between the regular consumption of green tea and weight control is of significant interest to researchers. It appears that the regular consumption of green tea is linked to lower body weights and lower levels of abdominal fat thanks to both the caffeine and antioxidant content of green tea (4). Green tea has also been shown to stimulate thermogenesis, enhance fat burning, increase the bodies energy expenditure and boost metabolism (5, 6, 7, 8).

Not only may green tea help weight control, but as a natural stimulant and source of caffeine, it can also help maintain alertness, improve mood and vitality ( 9, 10. 11).  L-Theanine, a key amino acid found in green tea, is also linked to a range of cognitive benefits including increased energy and improvements in concentration (12).  Body Science Greentea TX100 provides 100mg of caffeine per daily dose.

Most importantly, Body Science Greentea TX100 is a natural formation, with no artificial ingredients, only 7 calories per serve and sweetness achieved via natural plant based sweeteners. Body Science Greentea TX100 adds 2 x 600ml of water to your daily intake & has been designed to aid hydration, performance and gut health whilst optimising immune function and weight control. With refreshing flavours, minimal calories and a number of potential health benefits, Body Science Greentea TX100 compliments any training, hydration and health regime.

Body Science HydroxyBurn Lean 5

Why protein diet for weight loss?

Lean 5 contains numerous protein-based products. Lean5 contains the dairy-based proteins whey and/ casein and have a low carbohydrate and fat content.

The combination of the fast-digested whey protein and slow-digested casein protein is touted as providing the ideal combination for promoting healthy weight loss.

Lean5 “time release” as part of a daily diet is formulated for greater weight loss from fat mass and the preservation of muscle.

Why is protein absorption important – what do we actually absorb?

Why is Lean5 formula unique?
The human body contains about 30,000 different kinds of proteins. Protein we consume first has to be broken down into amino acids to be absorbed and used by the body. Digestive enzymes break down the longer protein strands into more usable amino acids. A lack of digestive enzyme activity in the gut can lead to less than optimal digestion and absorption of amino acids. Digezyme is a 5 x multi-enzyme complex that helps break down protein, carbohydrates, fats, lactose, and fibres. These enzymes are protected from stomach acid, while retaining their digestive activity and provide balance to the digestive process.

Then discuss at a level:
What is an enzyme?
Enzymes are biological catalyst molecules (typically proteins) that increase the rate of chemical reactions within cells without being used up and are important to maintenance and activity of life. The molecules at the beginning of biological process acted upon by enzymes are called substrates and the enzyme converts these substrates into different molecules, called products.

A. What is DigeZyme?
DigeZyme is a multi-enzyme complex that consists of gluten free and GMO-free broad acting enzymes, including amylase, lactase, cellulase, lipase and protease. These enzymes help break down carbohydrates, lactose, cellulosic fibers, fats and proteins to aid digestion. The DigeZyme multi-enzyme complex in the Lean5 formula are resistant to the action of gastric juices, thereby retaining their digestive activity and assisting to reverse chronic nutritional deficiency by improving nutrient absorption and their ultimate tissue bioavailability.

B. What/why are the 5 enzymes?
DigeZyme® contains amylase, which breaks down starch to sugars; protease, which aids the hydrolysis of peptide bonds and proteins to amino acids; lactase, which splits the milk sugar lactose, to produce the glucose and galactose; lipase which breaks down fats; and cellulase which breaks down cellulose fibres

C. Why enzymes – weight loss
DigeZyme contains the enzyme lipase which plays an important role to break down lipids and fats to enable the body to utilize the fat as energy rather than the fat being stored within the body. Lipase will also assist to increase metabolic rate and helps to transform an individual’s metabolism into a fat-burning unit instead of a fat-storage unit. Amylase may also assist with overall weight loss by assisting with the breakdown of carbohydrates and also helping to speed up your body’s metabolic rate. Improved digestion of carbohydrates in the body, and subsequent utilization as a fuel source will decrease the likelihood of carbohydrates consumed being stored in your body as fat.

D. Why enzymes – protein absorption
Proteins consist of nitrogen containing compounds called amino acids, which are among the most complex organic compounds found in nature. During the digestion of proteins, hydrochloric acid and proteolytic enzymes such as Protease break down the intact protein molecule into amino acids which are then absorbed through the intestinal wall. Assuring optimal protein digestion and proper blood flow is necessary for effective nutrient delivery and optimal protein absorption.

What is a prebiotic?
To maintain a well-balanced digestive system, we need the right balance of good bacteria growth. Good bacteria multiply through the fermentation of ‘prebiotic' fibres. Orafti dietary fibres are the best prebiotic fibres on the market. The Inulin prebiotic fibre is naturally extracted from the chicory root plant. Maintaining and optimising gut bacteria is part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a smart choice of ingredients in the normal diet. Orafti fibres are completely fermented, supporting the good bacteria and promoting healthy gut flora, naturally. A healthy gut means better digestion and absorption of nutrients.

A. What is Orafti?
Orafti® Inulin is a soluble fibre that is extracted from this chicory root, making it of 100% vegetable origin and it is an ideal fat replacer which can create a creamy structure with a similar mouthfeel experience as fat. Orafti Inulin enhances texture and natural sweetness and functions as a fat replacer and probiotic so it is perfectly suited to low fat products to improve body and mouthfeel combined with an excellent flavor release and reduce the caloric value of products without compromising on taste and texture.

B. What/why is a prebiotic?
Prebiotics were first defined as “nondigestible food ingredients that beneficially affect the host by selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of one or a limited number of bacteria in the colon, thus improving host health (Gibson & Roberfroid, 1995). Prebiotics are not probiotics that are live bacteria in yogurt, other dairy products and pills. A prebiotic is a specialized plant fibre that beneficially nourishes the good bacteria already in the large bowel or colon. It is well known that probiotics introduce good bacteria into the gut, however prebiotics act as a fertilizer for the good bacteria that’s already located in the in the gut, large bowel and colon. Prebiotics are not absorbed or destroyed by the body like probiotics, rather, then help your good bacteria grow, improving the good-to-bad bacteria ratio which has a direct correlation to your health and overall wellbeing.

The health outcome data for prebiotic intake is substantially more limited than for dietary fibre, however, it has been suggested that prebiotic intake may:
• Reduce the prevalence and duration of infectious and antibiotic-associated diarrhea;
• Reduce the inflammation and symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel disease;
• Exert protective effects to prevent colon cancer;
• Enhance the bioavailability and uptake of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and possibly iron;
• Lower some risk factors for cardiovascular disease; and
• Promote satiety and weight loss and prevent obesity. (Slavin 2013).

C. Why prebiotic – weight loss
Prebiotics are a form of plant fibre, which is a specialized form of soluble fibre that has specific actions to multiply and help develop good bacteria within the colon. These good bacteria can and do grow and divide every 20 minutes when adequately nourished which provides for a rich supply of the best prebiotics in the colon in order to prevent dysbiosis in the colon. Dysbiosis (also called dysbacteriosis) is a term for a microbial imbalance or maladaptation on or inside the body and results in an increased manufacture and absorption of calories in the colon and may also be related to increased insulin resistance and difficulty in blood sugar control in overweight individuals. A predominance of good bacteria in the gut reduces the increased calories created and absorbed with dysbiosis, blood sugar control is improved and there is less insulin resistance and inflammation in the gut assisting with weight loss in conjunction with a caloric regulated diet and exercise.

D. Why prebiotic – protein absorption
Prebiotics are natural, non-digestible food ingredients that are linked to promoting the growth of helpful bacteria in the gut that may improve gastrointestinal health as well as potentially enhance nutrient absorption and ultimately improved health and wellbeing. Improved nutrient absorption is the key to getting the most out of food and nutritional supplements consumed that ultimately aids exercise adaptation and recovery.

Why time release protein?
The concept of ‘fast’ (Whey Protein) and ‘slow’ (Casein Protein) digesting proteins is nothing new, with the concept first introduced buy Boirie et al in 1997 that reported the speed of absorption of dietary amino acids by the gut varies according to the type of ingested dietary protein, which in turn could affect postprandial (post consumption) protein synthesis, breakdown, and deposition. Whey protein is absorbed at a rate of approximately 8-10g/hr and can take about 1.5 hours to pass through the gastrointestinal tract where absorption takes place, while Casein is absorbed at a slower rate of approximately 5-6g/hr over a period of 7-8 hours. Accordingly, Hydroxyburn Lean5 has been specifically designed to provide 5 premium proteins (3 x fast acting Whey Proteins and 2 x Extended Action Casein Proteins) to meet the immediate post exercise needs of the body and provide sustained release of premium protein to maximize protein absorption.

A. 5 proteins, protein absorption (hr) & weight loss
Protein powders come in three primary forms which are isolates, concentrates and hydrolysates. Protein concentrates typically contain roughly 80% protein with 5-6% carbohydrate and fat while isolates may contain up to 90% protein. Hydrolysates are basically isolates or concentrates which have been pre-digested (digestion of protein is called hydrolysis) by subjecting them to specific enzymes designed to increase digestion rates and provide readily available amino acids pre-, during or post-workout.
Hydroxyburn Lean5 provides a unique proprietary blend of 3 x fast acting Whey Proteins (Whey Protein Isolate, Hydrolysed Whey Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Concentrate) combined with 2 x Extended Action Casein Proteins (Micellar Casein, Calcium Caseinate) to provide the complete amino acid profile via immediate and sustained release of premium proteins to maximize protein absorption. Hydroxyburn Lean5 is formulated to make you feel fuller longer to and avoid post exercise or between meals food cravings to assist with weight loss.

B. 5 proteins, protein absorption (hr) & preserve muscle
Lean muscle mass development involves a delicate balance between protein synthesis (building muscle) and protein catabolism (breaking down muscle) which occur simultaneously therefore it's the balance between the two that determines whether an individual gains or loses muscle mass. Hydroxyburn Lean5 provides a unique proprietary blend of 3 x fast acting Whey Proteins combined with 2 x Extended Action Casein Proteins to provide the complete amino acid profile and optimize the Anabolic (immediate post exercise Whey protein delivery) and Anti-Catabolic (extended post exercise Casein Protein delivery) effect of sustained release of premium proteins to maximize protein absorption for the development and preservation of lean muscle mass. The science unequivocally demonstrates that the absorption rate of protein is an important regulator of protein balance. Whey protein is rapidly absorbed to optimize muscle synthesis while the extended action of casein is ideal to sustain long periods of an anabolic and anti-catabolic environment for muscle growth, preservation and repair.

C. 10g EAA?
Essential Amino Acids (EAA) cannot be manufactured by the human body and as such must be obtained via dietary intake in the form of whole foods or supplementation. The nine essential amino acids are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Protein quality refers, in general terms, to how well or poorly the body will use a protein. More specifically, protein quality refers to how well the essential amino acid (EAA) profile of a protein matches the requirements of the body; the digestibility of the protein and bioavailability (how much of the protein actually entering the bloodstream is retained in the body) of the amino acids (AAs) also play a role. Hydroxyburn Lean5 provides a complete amino acid profile via 10g of EAA per serve to facilitate muscle protein synthesis, optimize recovery and aid muscle repair.

D. Metabolism
Hydroxyburn Lean5 contains L-Carnitine which is an endogenous molecule involved in fatty acid metabolism, biosynthesized within the human body using the amino acids L-lysine and L-methionine.
The L-carnitine in Hydroxyburn Lean5 acts to transport chains of fatty acids into the mitochondrial matrix, thereby allowing the cells to break down fat and get energy from the stored fat reserves and boosting metabolism.

Why fibre?
The health benefits of dietary fibre have long been reported, Higher intakes of dietary fibre are linked to less cardiovascular disease and fibre plays a role in gut health, with many effective laxatives actually isolated fibre sources. Higher intakes of fibre are linked to lower body weights (Slavin 2013). Epidemiologic studies suggest that adequate fibre intake consistently lowers the risk of CVD and coronary heart disease (CHD), primarily through a reduction in low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels, has the potential to attenuate glucose absorption rate, prevent weight gain, and increase the load of beneficial nutrients and antioxidants in the diet, all of which may help prevent diabetes (Slavin 2013).
